Overview

Despite the French name of the Dogue de Bordeaux, they are probably the result of reasonably short occupation of England by the Northwestern province of French Aquitaine. For the duration of this activity, as many believe that the British were crossed with the local French mastiff guard dogs, and this resulted in the Dogue de Bordeaux.
